Lumos is an international charity, based in the United Kingdom and founded in 2005 by British author J.K. Rowling, that promotes the deinstitutionalisation of children throughout Europe and the world. Starting in Moldova, in 2006, Lumos has worked across the European region, from the Czech Republic to Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia and other countries. In 2014, they expanded their work to the USA and Haiti. Since 2015, they have a presence in Greece through supporting the intervention in KEPEP Lechaina.
